Introducing Custom Lists
At SEON, we’re all about making it easy to fight fraud. Our recent update introduces Custom Lists as another way to help you detect fraud before it happens. Custom Lists is a convenient way to create your watchlists for certain transactions and interactions - without having to create rules with layers of parameters.
Custom lists don’t necessarily whitelist or blacklist records but allow you to monitor accounts, transactions, or users.
- If you’ve noticed a sudden spike in suspicious behavior from a certain country, you can create a custom list that monitors IPs from that specific geographic location
- Or perhaps, you have 10 rules tracking a set of 5 usernames, and you would like to add an additional 3 usernames to those rules. Updating all 10 rules individually to include 3 usernames would be a hassle. With Custom Lists, you can simply add these 3 new usernames to a single Custom List, and any rules that reference this Custom List will immediately inherit its watchlist
Custom Lists is an easy way to automatically monitor and assess an assumption without reviewing each transaction manually. Once you validate your watchlist, you can create your own Custom Rules and assign risk scores to such interactions.

Currently, blacklists, whitelists, and Custom Lists are mutually exclusive. We are working on expanding this feature so expect an enhancement to be released in the near future.
