Save your team time and effort by labeling transactions as Completed once you're done manually reviewing them.

For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned. Save your team precious time and effort by keeping track of transactions you have to review manually. Take advantage of our brand new functionality and mark transactions as Completed once you’ve updated their state. This way, you and your team can better monitor all the transactions that still need your attention and those that have already gone through the process.&nbsp;

You can access all the available information for manually reviewing a transaction in the Transaction Details view. Once you’re done and have made all the necessary adjustments, you can simply use the Mark as completed button in the top right corner of the Transaction summary widget.This way, the transaction will also get a blue Completed label, letting your teammates know that this particular transaction has already got the attention and evaluation it required.If necessary, you can come back to the Transaction Details view and redo this action by clicking the Mark as incomplete button. We're rolling out a collection of new Default rules that will help you fight four typical fraud types without in-depth customization. The 97 new rules are divided into four rule categories and designed to catch fraudsters targeting your organization at different stages of the customer journey.&nbsp;

Fraud can rear its ugly head whenever someone interacts with your site. We've designed these rules with this in mind to counter its most common occurrences.<ul><li>Registration rules: It's best to stem the flow of fraud at its source. Block fraudsters and bots from registering fake accounts for multi-accounting, abusing bonuses, or placing fraudulent orders.</li><li>Login rules: Account takeover attacks are a major risk for you and your users – and both of you lose out if fraudsters are successful. Spot suspicious login attempts to stop account takeovers, avoid chargebacks, or the fraudulent transfer of funds from user accounts.</li><li>Payment rules: Avoid fraudulent payments, friendly and family fraud with SEON's purpose-built default rules. Blocking suspicious payments can reduce chargeback rates and helps you avoid the cost of handling fraudulent orders in general.</li><li>Merchant rules: Designed for our partners in ecommerce, couple these rules with those in the Payment rules category to improve the protection of your online store. Catch suspicious orders or merchants before they damage your business.</li></ul>&nbsp;

If you're new to SEON, you should see the new rule categories on the Default Rules tab of the Scoring Engine. The Transaction Details pages got a spring update! We've made several under-the-hood changes to make the page snappier and more responsive than ever. You’ll notice that the pages got faster and smoother, but as part of our efforts to make collaboration in SEON easier, we also made some improvements to an existing functionality. In addition, by introducing a transaction summary to each page, you can better track the status of transactions.&nbsp;

When opening a Transaction Details page, you’ll now find a Transaction summary widget right at the top. This widget includes basic information, such as the risk score, the user, the action type, or the transaction amount.&nbsp;<figure class="image CUSTOM_rounded CUSTOM_shadow CUSTOM_image-modal"><img src="https://seon-website-assets.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/seon-docs/transaction_details_mark_complete_272d584026.png"></figure>&nbsp;

The updated Transaction Details page is released to all SEON customers. You don't have to do or change anything, but remember to reach out to our Customer Success team if you run into any problems.&nbsp;

Your exact speeds will depend on the type of queries you're running and your connection characteristics.Lightning track uses an async method so that our Scoring Engine can process scores and rules at even faster speeds.&nbsp;We recommend this option for certain workflows for transaction processing, where you need to prioritise speed and response time.&nbsp;This implementation is available after a consultation and scoping session with our technical Customer Success team. This is to make sure lightning track can serve your specific use case for significant gains.&nbsp;With lightning track, you can also pair real-time transaction analysis with feedback, without using Label API separately. New options let you configure priority timeouts and desired accuracy settings from the admin panel. Custom lists are also no longer mutually exclusive.

You can now change your priority platform timeout settings from the SEON Admin panel. Head to the General tab of the <a href="https://admin.seon.io/settings">settings page</a> and click the toggle if you want to give us more time to find profiles on selected social and digital platforms. In some cases, it’s more important to have as much accurate data as possible. Use the new desired accuracy settings and let SEON automatically adjust your timeouts to ensure you always get a valid response from your selected priority platforms. Your custom lists are no longer mutually exclusive. As a result, you can now add the same transaction or data field to several custom lists. You don’t have to change anything; just start adding data to as many lists as needed. Changes to the BIN API will make it easier for you to stop fraudsters who are using card types previously not recognized by SEON. As a part of these changes you'll see:<ul><li>Improved accuracy from our BIN API data enrichment;</li><li>Card type information now details if a card is pre-paid, virtual, or a gift card.</li></ul>

We know IP location information can be vital in blocking fraudulent transactions, especially when you cross-check that data with shipment addresses. The latest update offers:<ul><li>Better accuracy for IP geolocation data;</li><li>A rollout that does not require any integration from your team.</li></ul>

Version 1.4 of the Phone API also includes accuracy-focused changes. However, these changes will only take effect if you update your API requests, to ensure all your rules carry on working as intended. If you update, you can expect:<ul><li>More accurate information about phone carriers and networks, however, some carrier names may change requiring you to update any affected rule;</li><li>Better phone type recognition to inform you if a customer has provided a cell or landline number.</li></ul>

These long-awaited features will help ensure you're always making decisions based on the data that is most important to you. &nbsp;You can access these settings already via API and they'lll soon be available in the Admin Panel as well.<ul><li>Select key social and digital platforms and define a longer timeout to ensure a valid response.</li><li>Set a desired accuracy threshold and let us change your timeouts automatically, when time is less of an issue.</li></ul>

Our recently released blackbox machine learning solution is now generally available, meaning every single SEON customer can benefit from its speed and accuracy.Our newest machine learning feature will now use a base model when scoring transactions in profiles with fewer than 1000 handled transactions. The blackbox base model is trained and retrained on thousands of transactions that SEON has handled.&nbsp;Our team of world-class data scientists carefully curated the dataset to ensure it provides consistent and accurate results no matter your business or where you operate. As a result, everyone, including the newest and smallest accounts, will benefit from the full power of SEON's fraud-fighting capabilities.

Of course, the blackbox model will perform even better when trained on data unique to your business. To keep things simple, as soon as your profile passes 1000 transactions with at least 100 blocked transactions, our blackbox model will start retraining itself on your data.Despite the outstanding performance of our base model, we are sure that you'll see even better results after the switch, helping you identify fraud patterns unique to your business.

As we continue in our pursuit of optimizing both the speed and accuracy of our fraud-fighting solution, we’re pleased to announce the new CatBoost blackbox machine learning update.As one of the best open-source, blackbox machine learning algorithms available today, Catboost revolutionizes blackbox AI by making highly accurate modeling accessible to everyone. Blackbox algorithms train themselves quickly, so expect to see even more efficiency and precision from us.Blackbox machine learning complements our whole scoring system. If activated you can use it alongside our rule-based fraud score and transparent whitebox machine learning. It gives you the best of both worlds of AI. Blazing speed and accuracy in detecting patterns with a blackbox model, and visibility into how decisions are made with the whitebox solution.You can use our blackbox scores on their own, or take their input into your Custom rules. Blackbox scores also don’t result in strictly Approve or Decline decisions. They give you nuances that can be taken into your decision-making.

If you’d like to use blackbox scoring, simply visit your Settings page to enable it. This blackbox model automatically becomes available for users with at least 1000 transactions where a minimum of 100 transactions are in the declined state. This update doesn’t interrupt your existing integration —you can continue using the same API version.<figure class="image CUSTOM_rounded CUSTOM_shadow CUSTOM_image-modal image_resized" style="width:47.61%;"><img src="https://seon-website-assets.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/seon-docs/blackbox_setup_b8ec94b561.png"></figure> Once activated, blackbox machine learning scores are layered into the scoring decision powered by the Scoring Engine. For visibility, you will see the probability returned by the algorithm, alongside a fraud score that is calculated based on your existing Default and Custom rules.With blackbox scoring activated, you can request blackbox scores as blackbox_score in the Fraud API’s config object using the response_fields parameter. If blackbox score is greater than 70, change the transaction state to REVIEW. This gives you additional data points to make decisions with more confidence, plus the transparency to see how and why a specific score was reached.The Applied Rules widget on your dashboard will also display the blackbox score.The blackbox score of each transaction helps create statistics, reports, and modeling charts as another way to look at your data to spot trends.As the blackbox model trains itself periodically in the background and learns at speed, it doesn’t require any maintenance from your end.To refine accuracy even quicker, you can use our <a href="https://docs.seon.io/api-reference#label-api">Label API</a> to provide <a href="https://docs.seon.io/api-reference#step-3-feedback">feedback</a>. Rule category settingsYou can find the new category settings under your Scoring Engine in the Custom Rules tab. With just one click, you can easily look up an email, phone, IP, and card BIN. Updating all 10 rules individually to include 3 usernames would be a hassle. With Custom Lists, you can simply add these 3 new usernames to a single Custom List, and any rules that reference this Custom List will immediately inherit its watchlist</li></ul>Custom Lists is an easy way to automatically monitor and assess an assumption without reviewing each transaction manually. Announcing our Phone API 1.2 update that detects disposable, temporary phone numbers and identifies even more carriers and networks. Also releasing our IP API 1.1 update that tracks harmful IPs used for SSH brute force attacks, hacking attempts, malicious IPs, Postfix/IMAP scans, Telnet scans, and spam hosts.

Our <a href="https://docs.seon.io/api-reference#phone-api">Phone API 1.2</a> update introduces the ability to detect disposable, temporary phone numbers and identifies even more carriers and networks. We check sites like OnlineSIM and MyTrashMobile amongst many others that offer disposable numbers. Virtual numbers and temporary, disposable numbers are automatically assigned a higher risk score as they are usually used to circumvent verification steps. The ‘Disposable’ field is passed within the Phone API response. You will be able to create filters and <a href="https://admin.seon.io/scoring-engine/custom-rules/">Custom Rules</a> using this new data point.This update replaces carrier details from the last version so that you get better coverage and accuracy. We recommend updating to use Phone API 1.2 as soon as you can to ensure your rules and each lookup record is as accurate as possible.With the <a href="https://docs.seon.io/api-reference#ip-api">IP API 1.1</a> update, we track harmful IPs. We use honeypot systems and spam traps to cross-reference IPs that we know are used for SSH brute force attacks, hacking attempts, malicious IPs, Postfix/IMAP scans, Telnet scans, and spam hosts. Specific rules are used to avoid false positive detections of legitimate IPs. This ‘Harmful IP’ field is added to the IP API response and the <a href="https://admin.seon.io/">Admin Panel</a>.
