Overview

With clone search, you can identify duplicate, synthetic or highly similar customer data values to uncover suspicious patterns or fraudulent activities. This allows you to link related customer profiles, even when fraudsters attempt to obscure their actions by altering small details.

How it works

Clone search links customers with shared attributes such as browser hash, device hash, cookie hash, phone number, IP address, password hash and card hash. You can either start a clone search from the Customers page in SEON or upload a CSV or XLSX file.

Starting a clone search from the Customers page

1. Head to the Customers page.

2. Select the customers you want to include in your search.

3. Click the Clone search icon at the bottom.

4. Select the data points to search for.

5. Click Run search.

Starting a clone search from a file

1. Head to the Manual Lookup page.

2. Open the Clone search tab.

3. Upload a file.

4. Select the data points to search for.

5. Click Send.

Customer clusters

Once you run the search, customers are grouped into customer clusters based on shared data points, providing a comprehensive view of potentially fraudulent networks. For instance, multiple accounts sharing a phone number or card hash may belong to the same fraud ring.

Click the Export button at the top right corner of the screen to export the results for further analysis or integration with other systems.

Adding customer clusters to lists

After identifying customer clusters with matching data points, you can easily add them to lists or create new custom lists from them. This feature allows you to organize and categorize customers efficiently by bulk-adding them to a blacklist, whitelist or custom lists based on your specific needs.
